How to get a TEFL job?
Teach English as a Foreign Language
Getting a new job is always daunting, and getting a job in another country can be stressful without support. We’ve taught English and lived overseas; we know how difficult those first few steps can be.
Unlike other TEFL providers, we don’t just train you and send you on your way. We are committed to creating a global community and helping all of our trainees become part of a wider TEFL teaching network.
Don’t assume you need lots of travel experience, or you need to have taught in Ireland before you can teach English as a second language. It’s not necessary. You just need a thirst for the challenge and a desire to learn. We’ll help you with the practical things.
Why get a TEFL qualification?
There are more TEFL jobs than there are teachers, so you have a great chance of success in your chosen career. A TEFL.ie course can give you that extra experience to get the edge at your job interview. It can also help you with vital skills.
Although it’s possible to get a job without TEFL training, we’d highly recommend taking the TEFL.ie 120 hour online course or the classroom course. You owe it to yourself to walk into your classroom on day one with confidence, but you also owe it to your students to be well-prepared. That’s where our training is vital.
It’s not about spending a fortune. Our 120 hour TEFL certificate is often all you need. Of course, if you’re looking for TEFL courses in Cork or Galway, or anywhere else in Ireland, you can opt for the classroom course instead.
We can help with your TEFL Job
Moving overseas: a fresh start teaching English
The TEFL team are experienced: we’ve all lived abroad at some stage. But we didn’t do it without a little support. We understand that assistance from your TEFL provider can make all the difference. It can help you to feel confident and secure in your job and settled in your new home country.
Our Supported TEFL Jobs programme is designed for people who wouldn’t feel confident travelling alone, or people who would like to move overseas with a ready-made support network and a rep to help them get settled in.
It works like this.
We provide free assistance and a guaranteed job teaching English as a foreign language for a year. You can choose between teaching English in China or Thailand.
Our Job programme pays you a good salary and you have support from fellow TEFL teachers and an English-speaking rep.
TEFL training, seminars and refresher TEFL courses help top up your knowledge and give you additional skills to deal with real-life classroom situations.
Each time we run a TEFL Supported Jobs scheme, up to 100 other new English teachers join. Everyone’s in the same situation: they’re all moving to a new place, and they’re all eager to advance in their career. We give you the chance to socialise and meet up with your fellow teachers, socialise and share tips about the area.
Remember: Supported Jobs is completely FREE. You don’t need any experience either.
